Hi, I’m Camila

My therapeutic lens lies within the humanistic foundation, with radical compassion, cultural-sensitivity, and trauma-informed care. I believe healing and growth happen as we deconstruct the unhelpful parts of your story, connect to its many origins, and tend to the reoccurring wounds, so you that you can begin to live as your most authentic self.

My own identity lives in the intersections as an immigrant, woman, lesbian, mother, Latine, and neurodivergent human. I find it valuable to have all parts of our identities integrated into the work that we do together, while serving as a witness and a mirroring presence to your own inner-journey. Psychotherapy to me is a form of art; it's fluid, expansive, and it works as a safe container in which individuals are free to reveal all parts of themselves.

I have worked professionally in the field of mental health for nearly ten years, initially specializing in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to treat OCD, generalized anxiety and other disorders of overcontrol. However, I found my passion in more integrative approaches which seek to depathologize coping mechanisms that were developed as a means to survive and adapt. Modalities that influence my work today include Somatic Attachment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy.

Following my clinical experience in medical settings that offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, as well as my own experience with the modality, I have become a firm believer in the healing power of psychedelics.
