INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOTHERAPY
My therapeutic lens is rooted in humanistic foundations, with person-centered, narrative, and existential therapy as core pillars. I have formal training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Although, through my own process of liberation, I’ve continued to move away from traditional Eurocentric practices with the intention of reducing harm and stigma in the field of mental health. Today, my work aims to integrate more holistic approaches, incorporating mindfulness, somatic and attachment-based therapies, as well as Internal Family Systems (IFS).
It is important to me that clients feel deeply seen as whole individuals, including the intersectionality of systemic forces that impact their existence. Guided by radical compassion and a mirroring presence, I value bringing all parts of my identity - as an immigrant, woman, lesbian, mother, Latine, and neurodivergent human. Other key aspects of my practice include intentional living, reparenting work, integrating the unconscious, and embracing the delightful absurdity of one’s life into self-created meaning.
Psychotherapy sessions are primarily offered in person at my office in Andersonville, where you may occasionally meet my highly affectionate cat, Mico. Sessions in Portuguese are also available.
